The Louisiana State Archives, 3851 Essen Lane, is celebrating American Archives Month with several programs.
At 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 24, genealogist Yvonne Lewis Day will present “Basics of Genealogy Research.” Day also is president of the Louisiana Genealogical and Historical Society.
That program will be followed at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 24 with Charlene Bonnette’s presentation, “Historic Preservation.” Bonnette is head of the Louisiana Department, State Library of Louisiana.
Liz Williams, president of the National Food and Beverage Foundation, will present “Louisiana Cuisine: How Did We Get Here and Where Are We Going?” at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26. Donations of nonperishable food items and/or cookbooks for the National Food and Beverage Foundation will be accepted at this program.
